What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a government-funded initiative designed to improve dental care accessibility for Canadians. By reducing financial barriers, the CDCP helps eligible residents access vital oral health services – from routine check-ups to complex procedures. Through Canada dental benefits, this plan supports better dental health for individuals and families nationwide. It was originally designed for:
- Children under 18
- Seniors aged 65 and older
- Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate
At Metro City Dentistry, we are proud to be a CDCP provider, helping families and seniors in Brampton, Woodbridge, Cottrelle, and Mississauga access dental care without worrying about high out-of-pocket expenses.
2025 CDCP Application and Coverage Timeline
In 2025, the CDCP is expanding to include low- to middle-income adults aged 18 to 64 who do not have access to private dental insurance. This ensures even more Canadians can receive comprehensive care without high out-of-pocket expenses.
Eligible individuals can apply based on their age group. Coverage begins June 1, 2025:
May 1, 2025 – Ages 55 to 64
May 15, 2025 – Ages 18 to 34
May 29, 2025 – Ages 35 to 54
If you’re unsure about your eligibility or need help applying, our team is here to support you every step of the way.
